NEW CLOTHES
I have lost a little weight recently so having fun with clothes again. I went onto Urban Outfitter and they have alot of cute fun bold items for spring. I might get one of these dresses...so 80's I love it, and the price is 80's too...only $68. Also, this great head band would be cool to wear out when you have dirty hair.

UGLY BETTY-BRUXISM
So I just went to the dentist yesterday and I had to get a bottom retainer made to avoid BRUXISM.
This is a condition where someone grinds their teeth to the point where it just not good. Usually done when working, driving, sleeping...its basically just clenching your teeth together. This apparently causes teeth to flatten and may lead to headaches, and other symptoms that you can read about. I am going to look like Ugly Betty with the new bottom retainer that was made for me. Kind of makes me laugh though...I guess I can wear it and freak people out, but its meant to be worn at night or when no one notices that you have it in your mouth.

WALLPAPER
I have been wanting to wallpaper my condo for months now and I am so excited that I can say I am an official wallpaper girl. I just got it installed, and boy, does my place look amazing. Its so amazing what one accent wall can do.
I found this website helpful for me to figure out how much to buy. Click the pink title to help you. Also the Domino website has some links to some cool places to purchase.
I had this guy install the wallpaper, so if you live in LA, you can give him a ring, very reasonable prices. My wall cost $250.

PAPAYA
These are some cards I found on Wren Comforts blog. They are lovely cards and inpirational posters for all of you are being affected by mercury in retrograde. (according to a co-worker, Mercery is in retrograde from Feb 14-March 8th), so there is alot of miscommunication and uncertainty. Here are a few cards or prints that you can get to make you feel better about whatever it is that you might be challenged with. Click on the pink title to see more info.
ENNIO MORRICONE
Ennio Morricone is one of my favorite film music composers...he just got a lifetime achievement award on Oscar night last weekend. I remember seeing these films and being so moved by the music, that I did spend the money and got the soundtracks.
THere is a CD out, a compilation of his best scores, and its really worth the $18. Some of the music includes The Mission which is my favorite, Good the bad and the Ugly, and Cinema paradiso. Lots more, check it out by clicking on the pink title.
LONDON CALLING
My friend Su who lives in London, just had a baby boy. A trip to London is long overdue... and this city is quite amazing to visit. I have been a few times, and each time, its fantastic.
I found this book and thought anyone travelling to London, should take a look. I just ordered it, and was told it was updated with all the great places to eat, shop, look at art, and hang out at.

OSCARS 2007
So, the Oscar Party went really well...and it truely is the girl's Superbowl. I didn't think the dresses were that stunning this year, but here are my favorites. Gwenyth's rose Zack Posen dress. I also liked Penelope Cruz' dress, Nicole Kidman's red ensemble was a bit dramatic. I was happy that Alan Arkin won supporting for Little Miss Sunshine. He made me laugh alot in that film, and also, was dissappointed that Babel didn't win. I can't believe that the Departed one. He stole that from a Japanese film and so I think that was bogus.
Anyways, you can check out the winners this year by clicking the pink title.
LUSCIOUS JACKSON
I was in Virgin records the other day picking up Corinne Bailey Rae, who happens to be playing in LA on April 6th with John Legend, but I saw that Luscious Jackson had a greatest hits CD that they just released. I used to love this band, and saw them live in New York at a GAP party in 1999. I have a clear memory of jumping up and down on my bed with a bra and panties to their CD many moons ago. Perhaps I should get it and maybe it will make me want to do when I get home.

KOZYNDAN
SURFING COWBOYS
I just went surfing last weekend for the first time in months. I had a little accident in Mexico and cut my head open, so I have been kind of frightful of messing up my face again. However, I did paddle out, caught a few waves on my new 7"10 surfboard and felt rejuvenated and determind to get up an ride it...Beat the fear.
While looking for surf art on the web, I found this store. Its in Venice where all the trendy expensive stores are, but they have great finds. Check it out by clicking on the pink title.
OSCARS
I am having a big Oscar party at my place. Lots of friends, junk food, beer and wine, and I am expecting alot of caddy trash talk.
The Oscar ceremony honoring film achievements is on Sunday, February 25, 2007. This is the 79th Award show, which will be held in LA at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland and shown on ABC, beginning at 5:00 p.m. (PST).
Stay clear of Hollywood.
Ellen DeGeneres has been set to host, and if you click on the pink title, you can see the list of nominees. I haven't seen all the film yet, so my votes are not very educated, but I would like to see Little Miss Sunshine win and also Jennifer Hudson win for supporting actress. I am always for the underdog...I like those kind of stories where people's dream come true.
ANDY DAVIS
I like anything that has to do with surfing. THe idea of being at the beach, the kind of boys that like to surf, the clothing and art.
Here is a illustrator that a friend told me about that is fun and very whimsical. Most of it is sold out, but you never know...he may do a reprint. Check him out by clicking on the pink title.
MEASURE OF A MAN
Sydney Poitier. There seems to be alot of hype about this book so I just ordered it. Mr. Poitier has been in films that really broke alot of rules, like Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (with Tracy & Hepburn), and Uptown Saturday Night (with Bill Cosby). He has been in many more, but what is wonderful about him is that he is proof that you can change the way other people think and change the way that you think if you want to. He took chances, and that is something that is very difficult to do when you get older.
There are a few points one of the reviewer's pointed out and made it an easy sell: He would have not been the person he is, had he not settled for forgiveness of all the injustice he experienced. All of his achievements are the result of his attitude and approach to life. As much as I admire him for the awards he won, I have to believe that it was his personality that attracted all the success he achieved. His biggest lesson for me personally is his dignity and respect for himself as well as humanity. "

TOP DESIGN
I hate reality TV. I hate that I love this show.
TOP DESIGN is on WEDNESDAY night at 10pm on the Bravo Channel. I can't help myself, this is must see TV. Apparently, its set up like the show TOP MODEL, but involves interior designers. The panel includes a very caddy Jonathan Adler, who is like to bitchy judge that obviously favors the boys that he would probably like to sleep with...Kelly Wearstler, who is like the Paula Abdul who is in my opinion the most credible judge. Then there is the Elle Decor Editor in Chief, Margaret Russell, that has completely lost touch with what is modern and chic... does she actually thinks that the aquanet hair looks good?
The show makes each challenge an uncomfortable drama situation which reconfirms to me that I am not such an ass...some of these guys are so untalented and such drama queens, that you can't help watch. I think Goil is the most talented and he will win this show. Check it out by clicking on the pink title.

UGLY OUTLETS
MUD AUSTRAILA
MUD AUSTRAILA is a line of Porcelain goods created by Shelley Simpson in the early 90's. We have been using this dinnerware alot in our Bon Appetit photo shoots lately. Its sleek... oven and microwave and dishwasher safe, and just a bit more elegant than what I have seen out there. Check it out by clicking on the pink title.
D VIDERS
If I lived in a loft or had a store, I would want to get these dividers. You can choose from prints that this NY based company has designed or customize your own and send them the print. The price seems pretty reasonable...$383 to $1000. This would also be great fo a store front, or for a anniverary outdoor party with full photos!
Check out it out by clicking the pink title.

THE SECRET
I had a BIG birthday last night. My friend Angie, who is actually mentioned in Lizzie Garrett's design guide below...she owns a very hip furniture store called ORANGE, gave me something that I heard about by numerous people. (including OPRAH). Angie is a VERY smart and spirtually aware person so any books she suggest, is on the NY TIMES best seller's list before its on the NY TIMES best seller's list. This happpens to be CD.
THE SECRET sells for $29.95, compiled by an Austrailan woman named Rhonda Byrne which combines spiritual teachings of many famous philosophers, modern and ancient with the help of five well-known inspirational speakers. Apparently the CD has helped MILLONS to start sucessful businesses, find and manage successful relationships, lose weight, get out of debt, get over an abusive past or tragic incident...you name it. It covers alot of ground, but take a look, you may want to start this year off right and actually complete a dream or goal with a little help. Click the pink title to get you there.

LIZZIE GARRETT'S DESIGN GUIDE FOR LA
Check out this design guide written for Design Sponge by freelance writer and friend Lizzie Garrett. She has fantastic suggestions for the best places to shop in LA for modern design. She also happens to be one of my favorite bloggers. Her blog is called DESIGNER WATCHER. I have written about her before, but just a reminder...she is an "IT" girl and everything she feature is hip and interesting. You can get to the design guide by clicking into the pink title above.
STRI VECTIN
MARIO TESTINO
This book, LET ME IN, came out in March 07. Its a Behind-the-scenes photo book of contemporary celebrities by one of my favorite fashion photographer's, Mario Testino. I didn't have the pleasure of working with him when I was a photo producer at Vanity Fair, but my friend Sunhee Grinnell who produced for him said he was a complete sweet heart. Not like some of the monsters we had to deal with. The forward is by Nicole Kidman, and Michael Roberts, the fashion director at Vanity Fair writes a introduction for those insiders that care about things like that. Its about 300 pages and each photo does capture a prettty intimate moment. The book sells for about $400 for the limited edition. Check it out by clicking on the pink title.
NEW MUSIC
If you are like me and feel like you are slowing becoming more and more out of the lupe with music, check out this website called pitchfork. Kevin turned me onto it, and its a great website with intelligent reviews. Check it out by clicking on the pink title above. If you want to hear the actual music that they recommend, then you can log onto MYSPACE.COM, click into the MUSIC section, and then search the band you want to hear.
BRUHL COUCH
This is a cool couch I found surfing the blog world. This company is huge in Germany, and I thought this was a great find.
You can create your own sofa from a choice of designs, fabrics and cover combinations. Swap the covers to match your your ever changing style yearly! Design: the solidly upholstered leather back in traditional rhomb-shape contrasts very well with the removable wool floral seat covers. You can look into this item by clicking on the pink title.
