PEMA CHODRON

The next time you encounter fear, consider yourself lucky. This is where the courage comes in. Usually we think that brave people have no fear. The truth is that they are intimate with fear. When I was first married, my husband said I was one of the bravest people he knew. When I asked him why, he said because I was a complete coward but went ahead and did things anyhow.

KETTLE THIS

I love this Frank Gehry kettle. $450.

WARY MEYERS

I love these handmade pillows by Wary Meyers. William de Kooning, Jackson Pollock and Franz Kline...what's not to love. $195 each. Check it out by clicking on the title above.

ACNE STUDIOS SUMMER SALE

I love Acne. They are having their big summer sale. Check it out by clicking on the title.

ITALIAN VOGUE

I was reading one of my favorite blogs, the Satorialist earlier today and I had to share these photos from Italian Vogue that just hit the newstands. Steven Meisel making plus size models cool.

ISABEL MARANT PANTS

Isabel Marant is a genius when it comes to designing casual pants with an edge. Kate Moss thinks so too.
Check her out.

YELLOW

I have been obsessed with Yellow. I found these cool pieces at Anthropologie. Check it out.
(couch is $7000, and armchair is $2500, wallpaper $108-148 per yard).

WEST ELM FABRIC

A friend of mine is redecorating her apt and I am helping her redesign on a dime. I found these fabrics at West Elm. I love the idea of recycling old pieces that are still comfortable and useful rather than just buying a new couch just to have one. A cushions on an armchair, an ottoman, or if you want to go all out and REUPHOLSTERING that 90's couch in a modern way might be cool. Going to 10 different design stores, and dealing with all that traffic and parking is not fun. Just an idea.

CHRISTINA GANDOLFO

I did a porfolio review about a month ago for APA in Los Angeles, which is a group of photographers that establish, endorse, and promote professional practices, standards, and ethics in the photographic and advertising community.

I met a photographer there named Christina Gandolfo who was an inspiration to me. She is a breast cancer survivor that after finding out she had cancer and living through chemotherapy and being cancer free, decided to follow her dream of becoming a photographer after years of being a magazine editor.

I particularly like her pet photography. I highly recommend her if you live in Los Angeles. She does hip portraits and great photo of animals. Best part...she is SO AFFORABLE. Sittings start at $350.

Check her out by clicking on the title above.

JOHN CLARK ON ETSY

I just commissioned John Clark, an artist in MIchigan to do piece for me. He does black and white drawings but what makes him so hip is that he does them on book pages.
John was in Time Out New York, Domino Magazine, a British magazine called The Crack and Bust.

The books I have torn up right now are a few collections of short stories by Poe, a few mystery anthologies, and two super old books called The Rosary and A Certain Rich Man. He can do it on a book of your choosing but I'll he'd have to buy the book and add that to your total...

For a private commission, its $100 or so, depending on the size. He is an amazing find. Check him out by clicking on the title above.

SARA SUGARMAN & ZAK PROFERA AT DECORATIVE CARPETS

I read about the two on Apt Therapy. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the carpets that Zak Profera has designed for/with Sara Sugarman at Collaborative Carpets, her family business since 1955.
If you click on the title, it will take you directly to the write up on APT THERAPY. If you are redesigning your pad, and have about $3000 to invest in a carpet that will bring your home some big personality,Decorative Carpets is the way to go.
