SEXY MEN WE LOVE
I was talking to a stylist friend of mine the other day about the hottest men in the business that we would love to photograph. We kept talking over each other and we came up with the same names mas o minus a few selects. It was a fun conversation. These are the contenders in my view, on the hottest and coolest guys making headlines. Can you name all of them?
HOT DOG!
I like Hot Dogs. Always have. My favorite downtown hot dog joint has opened a second location in Venice.
Can I request that you open one in West Hollywood, on Melrose Ave? The Hot Dog of your choice, with a Chimay and the belgian Fries...amazing. (or as my hot dog loving Polish friend Les would say...AMAZEBALLS).
WHAT TO DO IN LA
My friend Jason was in town from London this week working. He brought his partner, Guy, a passionate foodie ...who had decided that he wasn't a fan of the food and the city in general. I took it upon myself to change his mind. If you have a stylish friend in town, here's my favorite things to do.
1) Getty Museum. Its free and the parking is $15. Don't go on a weekend...weekday is better if you can swing it.
2) LACMA ...have a drink at the Stark Bar before you go.
3) For Breakfast... Joan's on Third for some coffee and the egg sandwich.
4) Outdoor shopping...Santa Monica Place, the new mall at the front of 3rd street promenade. There is a Bloomingdale's,Nordstrom, Barney's Co-Op. Kitson, Tiffany & Co. Louis Vuitton and Nike...and to eat...Ozumo- contemporary Japanese and sushi or Pizza Antica is pretty tasty. YOu can walk to the pier or just to end the street and see a breathtaking view of the water from Palisades Park.
5) Venice..a nice stroll on the trendy Abbott Kinney street and then lunch the hipster filled Gjelina restaurant. Travis Lent is a young chef, but man...he knows how to cook... easy on the eyes as well. We Ordered the duck sausage pizza with nemako mushrooms and garlic oil, the grilled broccolino with garlic and chilis, and the fava beans with Peccorino and mint...amazing. (lunch for two is about $80 including wine)
6) Dinner..for the best meal of your life (a bit pricey but worth every penny)... go to "one of the best restaurants in the world" according to Bon Appetit Magazine. HATFIELDS on Melrose. Quinn and Karen Hatfield are the husband and wife team that electrify this city with their food. EVERYTHING is spectacular on the menu but the croque madame to start is a must, ... and to end, the banana creme pie. We tried the Benigets which is pictured above, and it was light and quite tasty too. (Dinner for 4 was about $500 but we drank like sailors).
