COOL RUG

I am looking for a cool affordable rug for a small bedroom. I think this one seems nice for a guest room. Its so afforadable, I had to share it with you. Its a 5x7 and its on sale at Urban Outfitter for $60! HOWEVER, I just purchased it and it says that itsd $59.99 but it was only $45 when I checked out.

COLORFUL BATHMATS FROM ANTHROPOLOGIE

Its always good to start the new year with new bathmats for all the bathrooms...don't you think? Fresh start to a new year? Here are some I like from Anthropologie. They run about $38 to $48. Check them out by clicking on the title above.

BONA DRAG BRACELET

I need to hip up my wardrobe with some hip jewelry. I was going to go to me & ro to get a few things but its a bit fashionista 2006 cliche now, isn't it? I was surfing the web for some new stuff and this sort of looks interesting. I checked out Lizzie's Design Watcher and she has a GReAT necklace on her site. She has always had great taste in bold jewelry, and the one she picked above is colorful and cool. You should check out Designwatcher.com, she has SUPER COOL finds. I found this one which I think is sort of cool, and its totally affordable, its $50. The ballet flats with rock and roll studs are super cute too!

DOWNTOWN LA ICE SKATING

My sister-in-law Jen wanted me to meet my two nieces in downtown LA to go ICE SKATING today. The last time I went ice skating was in Central Park a few years ago.
Unfortunately we got rained out but it such a great thing to do if you live in LA and are bored wondering to yourself, what should we do today? Its a great date night for a couple, a great day event with your kids or a new baby and good excerise! Check it out by clicking on the title above.

THE BEST OF DOMINO MAGAZINE

One of the saddest moments for me of 2009 was when I found out that Domino was shut down by Conde Nast. I truely loved that magazine and thought that it was a huge mistake on the part of that company to fold it and put all those talented editors out of work. Why Si? Can you please bring it back? We promise we will subscribe.

For non-professional interior design addicts like myself, always looking for new ideas, it was a serious loss. Here are some images that I saved to inspire me for future projects. There were hundreds of other shots but too many ideas to post.

2009 BEST OF APARTMENT THERAPY HOUSE TOURS

My favorite thing to do when I have a space minute is to surf APARTMENT THERAPY. Its like reading a tabloid magazine for me, cause I get a quick fix on how to change an area in my home that I am getting bored with. I think that the editors at Apartment Therapy are amazing and I love the quick finds and also how they reestablish to the chic wealthy decorators that its OK to shop at Ikea once in a while.

Here are a few room that I have been inspired by and most of them are on the "best of" list they have. You can find this by clicking on the title above.

KATE SOMMERVILLE

A friend of mine, Cynthia, got me a gift certificate and I couldn't be more excited!!!!!! Kate Sommerville is located in the heart of West Hollywood right near my condo next to Marc Jacobs. Its very chic and has an A list celebrity client list, but the reviews were very good and anything this friend who purchased this for me does or buys, means that its the smart thing to do. After a little research myself, it seems that Emma and Lily are the most knowledgable if you can't get Kate herself. Also, skip the valet and park on the street for $2 in quarters.

If you are visiting from out of town or just need something to give you a little ego boost, I would check this place out. You should check out the products they have which you can buy online if you live outside of LA. Jessica Alba, Kate Walsh, Felicity Huffman are a few that are on the "testimonials" page.

I remember when I worked at Instyle many moon ago, Kate Sommerville products would show up and I would snatch them for $1 at the beauty sales, but life is a little different now that I don't work at a magazine.

SOME NEW READS

I am looking for some good mindless reading to get me over the usual quiet holiday drama and just chill out.
Here are a few that looked good to me. I do like Peter Biskind, and after being in New York and shooting all those uppereast side and tribeca mommies, its sort of facinating to read what the nanny has to say now. If you have any books that are an easy read, please let me know. I could use some fun reading.

TREEBONES RESORT

My friend Shane is driving down the coast from SF to LA with her new man-friend hottie in a few weeks. She has been looking for some cool places to stay along the way. I told her about all the regular places like Post Ranch, Deetgen's, and a few others but its sort of EXPENSIVE. She found this one place, and it might be a bit too cold to go now but come June, I think this would be an amazing place to take a significant other. The propert consists of something called Yurts. These are tent-like circular fabric structures with wood lattice frames. I guess you would call it the A-list way to camp.

Treebones yurts are tastefully designed with queen-sized beds wrapped in soft linens and comforters, a heat source, electric lighting and a hot & cold sink vanity. They all open and have french doors that open to a redwood deck with spectacular views of the coast. The showers and restroom are just a short walk away. This is fancy camping for the high maintenence. Meals are included in the price and prepared by chef de Cuisine Chris Watts. Fresh ingredients from their OWN ORGANIC garden, and free range beef will detox you from all the dining out you do. There have beauty treatments available also in your Yurt! There is a heated pool and jacuzzi for guests which is a one of my favorite amenities.
