TRIP KICK

I found this website called, TripKick, which is a new travel review site that launched in May. Instead of the general hotel reviews, Trip Kick goes the extra mile, offering reviews on every individual room.

There are only 250 hotels that have been reviewed, and the coverage is growing.

Many rooms have been documented with an extreme level of detail, listing the size of the room, any possible noise concerns, and even the view a guest can expect from the balcony. Check it out by clicking on the title above.

PRETTY BITTER

My boyfriend Lucas career is starting to blow up (he is a photographer). Being a photo editor, I encourage him to send notes to the art directors and photo editors because it makes them feel good and promotes future work.

With that said, he is so particular about his note cards. He doesn't like the fancy stuff, and likes things that are a bit masculine. I found this surfing on Designwatcher.com, and think its perfect and clever!
Lizzie from Designwatcher.com had put up some great notecards from Linda and Harriet recently, and there was a blog link where I found these PRETTY BITTER notecards. Check them out by clicking on the title above.

VERONICA DALL'ANTONIA THE ILLUSTRATOR

I found another illustrator that caught my eye. I don't know why, but illustration has been sort of my big interest lately. Perhaps because there are so many illustators out there, but the same ones keep getting all the work. Example, Joel Holland, Risko, and Serge Bloch. I love you guys, but come on!
This gal grew up in Switzerland and was a textile designer before finding her calling. I love that the most amazing artists had a prior life in another field.
Perhaps that may apply to me as well!

Check out Veronica's website by clicking on the title.

ANDREA INNOCENT

Andrea Innocent is an artist I found while I was surfing the web. She is bizarre and quirky and her art is made up of detailed digital illustration, her current work is an ongoing exploration, of aspects of Japanese popular culture from an Australian perspective. You can purchase some cards by clicking on the title.

Her website, www.otoshimono.org (otoshimono meaning lost and found in Japanese).

RACONTEURS

I have been obsessed with the Consolers of the Lonely Cd by the Raconteurs. People are starting to give me alot of lip cause I keep playing it over and over again.
Photographer, Autumn De Wilde who I worked with last year on a shoot turned me onto them and my boyfriend Lucas, bought me the Cd when it first came out. I know all of you music buffs have been there and done that since 2006, but I think this is one of the greatest band out there (why is everyone in love with Vampire Weekend)...Jack White is just down right cool and he just gets it.
The band is made up of old friends which makes me like them even more. Jack White fromt the White Stripes, Brendan Benson on guitar, Jack Lawrence from Greenhornes on bass, and finally Patrick Keeler on drums also from the Greenhornes. They were originally called the Saboteurs I read but changed their name. The other cd that came out, Broken Boy Soldiers is also just totally electrifying. Check them out by clicking on the title and listening to a few songs. Their website is very 80's cool and takes some thought.

THIS IS NOT IKEA

I was browsing Craigslist today for tickets for tickets to Jack White's band, Raconteurs (www.theraconteurs.com). They are playing in LA at the Henry Fonda theatre this Sunday (sold out)...and I ended up finding this online furniture store.

THIS IS NOT IKEA (dot) COM.

Check Alexis out. No last name. He has an online furniture store and collects some amazing pieces at Garage sale prices. He is located in the Miracle Mile in Los Angeles, and if you cannot get his website up, his email is alexisinla@yahoo.com.

table lamp

I am looking for new tablelamps for my bedroom. I can't decide if I should go to a flea market and try and find some cool vintage pair to refurbish, or if I should go out and buy some really fancy pair from Moss and spend alot of money. Both sound like a drag. I was surfing the web, and found these on cb2.com. I love them. They are only $99 for each one. Hmmm...check them out by clicking the title.
